This two-level, split three-bedroom maisonette in Islington, Archway, needed a complete reconfiguration to meet HMO license requirements. The renovation involved replumbing and rewiring, breaking walls, turning two bedrooms into one, and adding an ensuite to each new bedroom. Owned by an overseas investor, we were entrusted to manage this project from inception all the way to letting.
Challenges
Initially, it took us a year to obtain all the necessary permissions to start the work. We faced several limitations, such as adding additional ensuites in a space-constrained environment without reducing the size of the bedrooms. Some ensuites required the installation of a Saniflo system due to permanent internal constraints.
